She is an economist from the Universidad del Pac\u00edfico and holds a master&#8217;s degree in health economics from Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam. Maki joined the CRONICAS team as a trainee in 2011, and since then has coordinated several studies, mainly focused on assessing the health system and its response to chronic diseases. Previously she worked as a research assistant and consultant on social policy, public investment projects, and environmental economics at the following think tanks in Peru: Instituto de Estudios Peruanos and Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n de la Universidad del Pac\u00edfico.
